Inspect the asset, not just the file extension
An animation can have the right extension and still be a poor fit for a product interface. A large GIF can slow a page down. A Lottie file can reference external assets. A WebM can decode differently across browsers. This inspector gives you the practical metadata and a visual background check before the file reaches production.
For mascot work, preview the result on both light and dark surfaces. A clean silhouette, stable dimensions, and a transparent edge are more important than a file that merely plays once on your laptop. Test the exact file on the real product surface before shipping it.

How to inspect an animation file
- Choose a GIF, WebM, or Lottie JSON file from your device.
- Review the dimensions, duration, frame information, and file size.
- Use the checkerboard preview to look for unwanted background pixels or edge artifacts.
- Read the warnings, then test the exact file in the product surface where it will ship.
How to read the results
GIF FPS is an estimate. GIF frames can use different delays, so the displayed average helps you compare timing but does not replace a visual playback test.
WebM alpha may be unknown. Browser metadata does not always expose a simple transparency flag. Use the checkerboard preview to see how the file actually renders.
Valid Lottie JSON is not a universal compatibility guarantee. A file can have valid timing and layer fields while still depending on external assets or renderer-specific behavior.
