GIF to Sprite Sheet Converter
Turn an animated GIF into an ordered, transparent PNG sprite sheet. Set the grid, spacing, and frame scale, then download a JSON map with each frame's position and delay.
What the sprite sheet contains
Each GIF frame becomes a same-size cell in the PNG. Transparent pixels are retained, and frames stay in their original order. Choose columns, spacing, and scale to fit the sheet into your game workflow.
The optional JSON file records each cell's x/y position, width, height, and decoded duration in milliseconds. It is a small frame map, not an engine-specific project or an animation player.
Why frame composition matters
Some GIFs store only the changed rectangle between frames. This tool composites those updates before placing each frame so cells show the full visible image rather than a fragment. GIFs with many large frames can still exceed safe browser canvas limits; lower the scale or use fewer frames.
Need to check timing or transparency before importing? Use the Animated Asset Inspector to inspect the source GIF.
A useful next step for game characters
A sprite sheet is one way to move a character animation into a game UI. If you still need a consistent character and poses, explore the mobile game mascot guide.
